Obituary of Charles Fish, 1847 1899

Charles Fish born Stroudsburg Pennsylvania December 13 1847 died Mena Arkansas March 22 1899 after a ten day illness of pneumonia. He moved west at about age twenty one living in Hiawatha Kansas Buena Vista Colorado Grand Island Nebraska Ft Smith Arkansas and Mena Arkansas since September 1896. He leaves a wife Jessie Sherman and four children Ira B Fish Earl M Fish Mary J Fish and Viola M Fish. He conducted a successful business in Mena and was a friend to the poor and to many in the community. Funeral held March 4 189? at the M E Church conducted by Rev D Whitwam burial White Oak cemetery. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters in the East.
