Compromise Reached in Suburban Light Rate Case
In a 3 to 2 ruling the Public Service Commission set a fixed minimum charge of $1.25 for Rockland Light & Power outside Middletown and Port Jervis. The order requires a new tariff of 11 cents per kilowatt hour, effective in suburban areas including Otisville and Circleville, with hearings and appeals noted and a notable shift recognizing urban suburban rate differences.
