Matteson Village Board approved the Holden Park subdivision a 63 acre site west of the Metra station adjacent to Old Matteson and near Park Forest. The neo traditional plan includes 111 single family homes and 88 townhouses priced from 110000 to 150000. LandVision Development Group of Oak Brook will develop the site with final engineering underway.
Village officials said the Venture building at Governors Highway and Route 30 will be remodeled into a Big K Mart, while a new Home Depot is planned to the north on Cicero Avenue. The plan includes 3,371 indoor square feet and 4,000 square feet of outdoor area with a six foot fence and traffic controls to allow entry from Grant Avenue and exit to Richton Square Road.
The 43rd Park Forest Art Fair will showcase about 130 artists from across the United States, with 23 new participants. The event runs September 19 and 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, with free admission.
