Cheryl Karas and about 50 teachers in Rich Township District 227 adopt a Quantum Teaching method to boost engagement at Rich South High School. The program blends brain-based learning, multiple intelligences, cooperative work, and hands on activities to activate students during block schedule classes. Karas says the approach has altered her methods by about 80 percent since June.
The Star announces a transition from the monthly TV booklet to a new weekly TV CloseUp. Beginning Nov 7, every Sunday issue will include a full weekly grid and reader features, replacing the old monthly format. The current grids on Pages B-3 and B-4 serve as a bridge. Stay tuned for more.
