Man Shot While Walking in Flossmoor Saturday
A 22 year old Country Club Hills man was shot in both legs while walking with his brother on Crawford Avenue near the 18700 block in Flossmoor Saturday in the early morning hours. Police classify the incident as aggravated battery with a firearm. The brother was unharmed and the victim was treated and discharged Monday.

Bond denied in Chicago Heights attempted murder case
Darryl Kenneth Payne, 23, of 317 West Hickory Street, Chicago Heights, faced one count of attempted first degree murder and one count of aggravated battery to a disabled man after an August 9 entry into a Center Avenue home. The victim, wheelchair bound, suffered serious injuries from a meat cleaver attack. Payne was denied bond in Cook County 6th District Court.
