Chicago Heights arrests for possession and road crash deaths
A Chicago Heights woman, Amanda Hayslett, 25, was arrested and charged after a bag of cocaine allegedly fell from her sock during a traffic stop at 13th and Division streets. In a separate incident, Virgil Wade, 20, was arrested after officers found cocaine and marijuana in his possession at 14th Street and Wentworth Avenue. A Richton Park area auto crash on Sauk Trail near Ridgeland Avenue left George Brown, 64, dead, with a 17 year old driver and a 16 year old passenger injured. charges against the driver are being considered.

Hazel Crest teen pleads guilty to battery in Markham Court
Hazel Crest resident Jason Stosiek a senior at Homewood Flossmoor High School pleaded guilty to battery Tuesday in Markham Court. He received one year of court supervision and two days of community service after being charged Sept 22 for punching another student. The victim was injured with a broken nose. Stosiek was expelled from school. his mother says it was his first offense. Separately two 12 and 13 year olds were charged with petty theft for stealing bottled water from Dominick's. A Honda scooter was stolen from E Carriage Way, and about $8,000 in photographic equipment vanished from a truck on Western Avenue. A 51 inch color TV and VCR were taken from an apartment on 170th Street.
