Walk of Hope builds cancer support in South Suburbs
The Cancer Support Center, based in Homewood, marked progress since its 1992 founding by six women. Since 1994 it has grown to a 14-member staff serving 200 volunteers, offering 60 monthly programs in a 6,000-square-foot center. The annual walk funds the free services relied on by residents from nearly 70 Cook and Will counties communities.
