Community Pride Highlights Homewood Improvements
Editorial notes two major public upgrades in Homewood: a 1.2 million dollar remodeling of the HF Park District Iee Arena on Kedzie Avenue and a half million dollar renovation of the Homewood Auditorium near Village Hall. The arena now features new carpeting, upgraded lobby, larger locker rooms, a hospitality room, and expanded pro shop while the auditorium received safety code upgrades, heating and cooling improvements, a new roof, and ADA compliance. Dedication ceremonies were held, and residents formed Friends of HF Park District to help fund the project with state grants and public- private support.
