Richton Park officials weighed a request to allow River of Life Ministries to operate a church at Lakewood Plaza Sauk Trail 5111 in the former racquetball site The Evans of New Lenox lease the space for a three year term through 2002 They had planning commission support but staff urged denial citing precedent and compatibility with a business district The row over churches in commercial zones drew comments from Trustee Gregg Spathis and village planning staff while the church plans to relocate from Frankfort were noted.

Ex-parks chief urges radius system to ease residency rule
Matteson ex parks chief Jim Sharp urged the Village Board to consider a compromise to the residency ordinance.
