Street tax payments tied to Tocco mob racketeering case
Witness Charley the Greek Soteras testified that he delivered cash tributes and a trunkload of sawed-off shotguns and ski masks to Albert Tocco at a Matteson steak house. He admitted paying a $500 monthly street tax to Tocco, saying greed and fear kept him in chop shop operations with Ferraro. Ostrowski’s murder and Ferraro’s disappearance underscored the mob toll.
