Oak Forest annexes 11 acres fueling housing boom
City Council approved annexation of more than 11 acres south of the Gingerwood subdivision near Country Club Hills. Three developers must pay a 2900 dollar per lot impact fee to fund a 580000 dollar wetland and detention pond near 171st Street and Lockwood Avenue. Developments include Klaus at 171st and Laramie subdividing into about 14 lots, Biros Masterson at 171st and Lockwood into 12 lots, and Fawn Builders subdividing a one acre parcel into two lots. All require flood study conformity and plat approvals before construction. Biros Masterson homes must be brick, 2000+ square feet, and meet larger lot dimensions. The Oak Forest Club town house project near 147th Street and Oak Park Avenue also gained final plat approval.
