Missing man found dead after nine day search at Holy Cross
Family of 57 year old Asem Taiym spent nine days looking for him after he died in the Holy Cross Hospital emergency room on June 1. The hospital notified relatives by letter on June 12 that he was deceased since June 1 and had been in the morgue for 12 days. Hospital officials apologized for a breakdown in communication and said new next of kin procedures are being developed. Taiym, a naturalized citizen active in Chicago's Arab community, left a wallet and contacts with his belongings at the hospital. The family buried him at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park.
