Tall Grass Art School offers new winter classes
The Tall Grass Arts Association announces winter 1999 classes at 70 Lester Road Park Forest. Courses include Kumi Hime braiding with Ginny Kurowski for ages 13 to adult, an Open Workshop with model, and multiple sessions of children's, youth, and adult drawing, painting, sculpture, knotting, and calligraphy taught by instructors Karen Raidy, Jim Collidge, Joanna Packheiser and others. Olympia Fields Park District completed a community interest survey with 194 usable responses by November 5. Findings show 89 percent rate staff and facilities as good or excellent, 70.5 percent rate district life quality as good or excellent, 46 percent seek more programs, 49.2 percent oppose higher taxes, and winning ticket numbers were 5768692 5769256 5769354 5769200 5769044 with prizes claimable by calling (708) 481-7313.

Park District seeks two park board commissioners
Petitions are available at the Olympia Fields District office for two elected commissioner positions. Forms may be picked up Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The terms are one full six years and one unexpired four years with filing by February 3 to appear on the April 13 ballot. Applicants must be legal residents of the Olympia Fields Park District for at least one year and be registered voters.
