TIF Plan For 115 Acre Site Near Sauk Trail Clears Hurdles

The 115 acre site west of Central Avenue south of Sauk Trail is annexed to the village and designated a TIF district. Testing Service will provide geotechnical work to assess soil and guide road and pond construction. The CAVE Group will perform an archeological survey over about 12 working days. A redevelopment plan aims to avoid blight and spur economic vitality. A five year drainage project plan and a referendum for $3 million in general obligation bonds for a community center were approved for the Nov 7 ballot.

Continued from Page A-1 details five Park Forest area districts voting in November. Park Forest District 163 has five seats, three four year and two two year terms. Matteson District 162 lists five seats with three four year terms and one two year term. Steger District 194 offers three four year terms. Filing windows run this week 8:00 to 4:00 and Aug 28 8:00 to 5:00 at respective district offices. Candidates must meet basic eligibility: US citizen 18+, district resident one year, registered voter.
