Police recovered a stolen vehicle in Hazel Crest on Bulger Avenue after a neighbor heard noises at 6 a.m. A related incident involved an attempted auto theft a block away on Dixie Highway overnight. Additional reports include a car abandoned at a service station, a domestic battery charge, traffic violations, a visor TV theft, vehicle window damage on Allemony Drive, a DUI arrest on Woodgate, and tire slashing at Lincoln Mall Drive.
Police report multiple thefts in Chicago Heights including a CD player and speakers stolen from a vehicle on Halsted Street between 10 p.m. April 20 and 8 a.m. Friday and a 1986 van stolen on Aberdeen Street about 2:30 a.m. Friday. Additional stereo thefts occurred on West Hickory Street between 8:30 and 11 a.m. April 19. Arrests include Marcus D. Roach charged with cannabis possession and public intoxication after 9:15 p.m. Saturday at 14th Street and Fifth Avenue, Natavia D. Kennedy charged with battery after pepper spray incident at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, and Gerrardo Gavina charged with DUI and disobeying a stop sign after a traffic stop on Chicago Road around 9:30 p.m. Sunday with a blood alcohol level of .213.
A Super Kmart employee Sopheria Ross 18 Sauk Village charged with misdemeanor theft after staging scans and pushing merchandise in carts outside the store. A king size comforter sold stolen from a Cher ry Creek Laundromat. Prateek Maitra 17 Flossmoor charged with disorderly conduct for brandishing a BB gun. James McLaurin 21 Country Club Hills charged with cannabis possession and traffic violations after a 1:30 AM stop.
Will County reports a vehicle missing from a East Corning Washington Township driveway where the car was left unlocked with keys in the ignition. Diesel fuel and a tanker hose were found in a Crete Township drainage ditch along Goodenow Road. EPA to investigate. A nearby farmer said fuel spilled after he left town and returned to see the hose and nozzle missing. Cameo Griffen, 17, 4240 Whitehall, charged with three counts of battery after allegedly throwing rocks at pedestrians.
