Richton Park Approves Annexation for Flying Travel Lodge Plaza
The Richton Park Village Board approved an annexation agreement for the Flying Travel Lodge development at Sauk Trail and Central Avenue. Two related ordinances received preliminary approval to add 34 acres to Richton Park and grant site plan approval for the annexed land. The easterly actions set up next week’s regular meeting to finalize the subdivision plat, site plan and variances. Village staff recommended passage while Village President Banovich voiced support as beneficial to the community. I-57 bridge dedication set for Sunday in Matteson
Local residents will gather for the I-57 bridge opening on Sunday in Matteson. The ceremony at the 205th Street bridge between Cicero and Central avenues includes a 30 foot balloon, a 1:30 p.m. ribbon cutting, and a reception at the Village Hall. Officials from local, state and federal levels are expected, with former congressman George Langmeister among attendees, along with IDOT officials and engineers from HNTB and TY Lin. The bridge has been open since December and will close access for about two hours during the event.
