Park Forest woman tours Antarctica twice

Joan Larsen and her husband Paul recently returned from their second Antarctic expedition aboard the Kapitan Khlebnikov, exploring Queen Maude Land and Deception Island. She described the trip as heavenly and spoke of translucent icebergs, towering peaks, and rare flowers thriving in the austral summer. Larsen, who prefers remote sites over cruise crowds, plans to visit Namibia next.
