Rita Dragovich, Hammond resident and medical technologist with Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers, receives the Going the Extra Mile award for March for 24 years of dedicated service. Hospital honors include a check, parking space, pin, and lunch with senior leaders.
The 1993 Walk With Israel begins at Anita M. Stone Jewish Community Center in Flossmoor with an 8K walk jog and activities including Shoot the Hoops Parade and Family Fun Course. Registration runs 9 to 9 30 am. Lunch and closing celebration follow at 11 30 am with music and face painting. Sponsors include Jewish Youth Council and Jewish United Fund.
Barbara Dwyer will discuss the inclusion movement at a 7 30 pm lecture hosted by the South Suburban Learning Disabilities Association of Illinois in Olympia Fields. The talk covers local and state initiatives and lessons from districts already implementing inclusive education. questions will follow.
