Odessa Texas Shooting Rampage Kills Seven In West Texas
A driver opened fire during a routine traffic stop in Odessa and went on a rampage across Odessa and Midland, killing seven and wounding 22, including three law officers. The gunman Seth Aaron Ator, 36, was killed by police outside a theater. A prior misdemeanor case did not bar firearm purchase. No motive is known. The attack began with a traffic stop, escalated with a hijacked mail truck, and ended in a gun battle with officers. The victims range in age from 15 to 57. A 17 month old girl was wounded and scheduled for surgery.
