600 Miners Strike Over Recognition At Columbus Area Mines
In Cottars Ohio on October 2 1890 a mass meeting of the National Progressive Union issued a resolution demanding recognition by the Columbus and Hocking Coal and Iron company and a guaranteed expense check off before May 1 1890. Over 60 miners refused to work. Knights of Labor miners returned to work. The company says the dispute is between two organizations and will not interfere.
