Wendling Wins $5,000 Verdict in Traction Suit
Mrs. Lida W. Wendling of Cleveland, formerly Massillon, won a damages verdict of 5000 against Northern Ohio Traction Company for injuries from a Ward's Crossing grade crossing collision near Bedford on November 25, 1904. Fifteen people were hurt in the crash involving a Pennsylvania flyer and an A B C trolley car, with the plaintiff alleging negligence.

Deserter Returns to Army for Lover Bride
Lawrence W. Koffel of East Liverpool deserted Fort Snelling Minnesota to marry Miss Gertrude Saunier of Louisville. She urged him to surrender, he did so on September 22 1904, was court-martialed and returned to his unit to finish enlistment. The couple then planned to reside in Louisville.
