Striking journeymen plumbers and master plumbers reached a four hour compromise on a new wage scale. The agreement sets a ten hour day on contracts closed before June 12 with minimum wage of 8, nine hour day on later contracts, and ends April 1. Two Pinkle and Gleitsman workers were laid off. others returned to work.
Ada Seeeng visits AB Campbell for the graduation of nephew Harry Brown. Mrs Beecher Meke returns from Lima for a month with her parents. Miss Emma Kuebler attends Massillon commencement with Rose Leavers. Albert Andree to wed Jessie Simmons on June 26. Bridge completion and paving plans praised. Potato market brisk at 40 cents for foreign buyers. Urban Hill area reports guests from Wooster and Kansas trip impressions. Edward Klick of Richville foreclosed a mortgage for $1.54 against Clement Gallatin, taking possession of a saw mill, portable engine, two horses, a run, harness and other items. Gallatin’s wife filed a replevin suit in Justice Sibila’s court to recover part of the property. Constable Graham served papers Friday. case set for June 20.

Massillon unionists will travel to Canton Tuesday evening to attend the instituting of a central labor body. They depart on the 7:10 oclock car. President Peter Smith of the Trades and Labor Assembly and others will speak. The Canton group opens with fifteen trades affiliated.
The state hospital team and a city select squad played seven innings to a 13 all tie amid many errors. Massillon’s Markle led the batters with Bayliss’s kicks drawing stoppages. Final tallies showed Massillon 13 Hospital 13 with the last frame called due to darkness. Other hospital notes mention Dr Ey man’s return from Milwaukee and a lecture at the chapel.

The Pittsburgh entry for the W and L E railroad will be settled soon with bids for two tunnels and a large bridge into the city. Contracts will be let in Pittsburg for about forty miles of line at roughly 150000 per mile, costing several millions overall, signaling the line’s entry into the Smoky City.
