The annual suspension of operations at local glass bottle factories will occur around the end of January, closing for two months. Loss of a Leg Amputation for J Ridenbaugh
John W. Ridenbaugh of Massillon, a construction worker for the Massillon Bridge Company, underwent leg amputation at Zanesville after his leg was crushed at work on a steel frame project. The severity of his injury was not disclosed to his wife until today.

Robert Legg district president of the United Mine Workers and Henry Leahy of Massillon Coal Mining Company will depart Sunday to inspect wages and working conditions for machine miners in the Hocking Valley. If operators agree to talks the strike will be delayed pending agreement. otherwise strikes will start Sunday morning. Operators say they lack time to assemble all parties.

Wreck Fatal for Engineer Melton in Ironville Collision
In the W. & L. E. wreck at Ironville on Thursday night Engineer H. F. Melton was killed when engine No 101 collided with engine 201 under orders. Fireman Strobel escaped with minor injuries after being knocked into the cab and steam scalding. Three cars overturned, traffic delayed, wrecking crew cleared the line by Friday noon.

Narrow Escape Forces Stop On Crossing
Engineer Burkhardt of the W and L E averted a wreck on Friday morning when he signaled No 47 to stop and warned No 70 approaching from the opposite direction. The two trains from C L W eased to a halt and nearly stopped, pilots the only injuries. The crash stemmed from a orders mix up at Beach City.

Ridge Oil reports strong well output from Van Wert property
Willard Bechtel of Ridge Oil Company returned from Van Wert county where he inspected the company's property. He states the well is producing about 175 barrels daily, after a shot Monday when initial production was said to reach 400 barrels per day. The Ridge company is made up entirely of Massillonians and was organized by L. P. Schimke and H. G. Deweree.
