Canton former Luncheon Club treasurer David Seffens was found dead at his 35th Street NW home after missing sentencing on an aggravated theft plea. Stark County coroner confirmed death around late morning. cause not released. Seffens, 72, had steered the club for 23 years and faced up to three years in prison for embezzling about 216000 since 2000.

Ohio lawmakers approved a $69.8 billion two year spending plan with a 4 percent income tax cut and a new 21 year age limit for tobacco and vaping products. The measure passed the House 75 to 17 and the Senate 29 to 1 and now goes to Governor DeWine for potential line item vetoes before signing.
