Roan Under Arrest in Saloon Burglary
Roan is in custody on suspicion after burglars entered T. C. Miller’s East Main Street saloon Wednesday night. About 55 in nickels, cigars, and whisky were taken, with a $100 loss cited. Miller says the canal basement door, once barred, may have been forced. Roan admits guarding the cellar but says the door was barred each time. A suspicious companion was allegedly brought in earlier, and nothing has been recovered.

Five Coal Cars Derail on North Massillon Switch
Five coal cars derailed on the North Massillon mine switch on Tuesday afternoon as the cars moved down a steep grade and due to speed regulation by Drakemen. Trainmen leapt to escape, one car stood on end and a brakeman barely avoided being buried. Three cars toppled in a field while two remained on the ties. Wooster wreck train was dispatched to clear the track.
