Board of Trade Meeting Deliberates Trustees Row and Elections

A sparsely attended but lively meeting in the mayor's court room debated how to name six trustees for a $50,000 fund. The board approved nonpartisan selection, elected officers, and chose McClymonds Conrad Warwick Willenberg Coleman Young as trustees with Snyder and McCaughey as committee.

Poultry Show Awards Awarded to H T Beatty

At the Canton poultry show Beatty of this city won multiple prizes including first on pullet and second on cockerels for Golden Wyandottes and first on cockerels pullets and breeding pen for Silver Wyandottes.

Dueber Watch Chase: Assignment Sparks Canton Alarms

Canton reports the Dueber Watch Case Manufacturing Company assigned its assets with Howard Douglass as assignee. Mortgages totaling over 600000 were filed to secure Cleveland banks and Cincinnati creditors. Col. Moore and Judge Day foresee a temporary setback with operations resuming soon and all debts to be paid. Administrators named for Massillon estates.

Dr Hughart Nominated to Fill Seventeenth District Seat

Special Dispatch from Wooster reports Dr Hughart of the city was nominated to fill the Seventeenth District vacancy caused by Senator John Zimmerman’s death. Republicans have not yet chosen a candidate. The district leans Democratic and a party nominee faces long odds.

Endjians to Surrender Reported in Dispatches

Special dispatch from Washington reports Gen Miley stating prospects favor surrender of all Endjians as negotiations progress. Gen Schofield received the message noting negotiations heading toward that result as of January 6.
