Labor Day travel warning highlights fatal crash tolls
Labor Day weekend ranks as one of the deadliest travel periods with millions on roads and hundreds of extra police officers. A GateHouse Media review of a decade of NHTSA fatality data shows an average 373 fatal auto crashes and 407 deaths per year, nearly double a typical three day period. In 2017, 354 fatal crashes caused 374 deaths. Ohio recorded 17 crashes and 19 fatalities during the weekend.

Two Companies Clear Late Sewage Debt
Stark County officials reported two businesses paid nearly $20,000 in overdue sewer bills after Commissioner Janet Weir Creighton highlighted noncompliance.
