W O Rowe a 50 year old wholesale lumber dealer from Columbus died after being struck at the West Main street crossing of the Pennsylvania railway Thursday afternoon He was hurrying to catch a 3 50 train on the Cleveland Lorain and Wheeling line to Canal Dover The gate tender James Wagoner and other witnesses described Rowe running under lowered gates and being struck as the eastbound freight approached He died ten minutes after the accident at the Meitzman Hotel His body was sent to Tigerd s morgue Coroner Schuffele will take witness testimony next week Rowe left a wife and four children He had relatives in the Massillon area and connections to Dalton Ohio
