In Shenandoah Pa two Lithuanian men Antony Kimovitz and Stanislaus Zukowski were shot in the foot during last week’s riot and later arrested under heavy military guard. Constables requested protection from General Gobin who sent Company I troops to escort the lineup and hearing before Squire Shoemaker. The pair and Waldo Houwenski faced charges with each held on $2,000 bond. if unpaid they were sent to Pottsville jail.

The general home missionary board of North America of the German Evangelical church opened its semi annual session in Keokuk Iowa with Rev J Baltzer of St Louis presiding. Reports from Salt Lake City San Francisco New York and other missions were received and Rev Haass of Detroit resigned as member and treasurer. A successor and the secretary will be chosen today. The board oversees 17 districts and is composed of five members serving four years.

Senator Wilhelm opposes the iron clad city government plan and supports revising school laws at the extra session. The code, based on Governor Nash ideas, creates a four member police board, a four member fire board, and a three member board of service under mayoral appointment and council confirmation. The city council retains full legislative power and would control franchises and public works. The state bar committee is to receive the village code next week.
