Found Bead in an Old Barn Shocks Third Ward

Residents of the third ward were startled Friday morning by discovery of a dead man in a barn behind a vacant store at the corner of Wirth Street and General Ave. Pred Kuehl, a resident of Fourth Street in Pleasant Hill, was identified. A coroner's jury ruled death from heart disease brought on by excessive drinking and exposure. He leaves a wife and five children, and was interred in Theresa after services. A fire later damaged Klock's butcher shop and nearby Demokrat office, with insured losses and suspicion of origin from a cigar or pipe. Sept. 5. Washing and laundry business ads appear in the text.

On the Briny Deep Aboard a Sea Voyage Letter

An aboard ship letter from Dr Doege to Alderman Heery Born recounts a voyage transcript written at sea on August day eighteen aboard the steamer. The writer describes seasickness, motion, meals, and the inability to swallow while noting landfall near Plymouth England anticipated soon. The missive ends with warm regards from Karu Dogar to Dam and family.

Wilhelm Dieb Widowed Heart Attack Victim Dies At 52

George Wilhelm aged 52 years died suddenly Friday morning at his home on South Central Avenue after a brief illness. Born in Huyton County, Sept 15 1870, he moved to this city about fifteen years ago and ran a cigar factory from his home. He was a member of the Alle makers union and known for his kind, pleasant manner. Funeral from St John’s Catholic Church Monday with Fr Risen officiating. He left many friends and family to mourn his death.

Accident in Auburndale injures three year old boy

A three-year-old child of Ignaz Gbermeyer of Auburndale suffered a serious accident on Tuesday in a wheat field. A piece of wheat stubble penetrated the eye, risking loss of sight in the right eye. The child was taken to Dr Hayward for treatment and a nearly half inch long sliver was removed.
