M G Jeffris to Speak at Wood County Rally Saturday

M G Jeffris of Janesville, famed Wisconsin orator, will headline a Republican rally in Marshfield Saturday October 29. R F D examinations will be conducted at city hall this Saturday October 29 for rural free delivery carrier posts. An earlier session two weeks ago drew twenty applicants and with salary increases recently approved more applicants are expected to compete.

Rural Route Changes In Wood County Delayed Start

Rural free delivery in Wood County updates two Marshfield routes. Route 3 is rebuilt, serving 685 people over 17 square miles with 137 houses. Route 5 introduces a new path east of Marshfield with 795 residents and 1353 horses, total route length 27.5 miles. Delivery starts December 1.

Incendiary Fire Strikes Local Building

Fire department fought a blaze Tuesday evening near eight. Building and contents damaged before flames were stopped. Investigation by the chief found fire started inside near the door. It is the fourth incendiary fire within a hundred yards in three months. Strong suspicion targets an identified party. authorities seek sufficient evidence for arrest and conviction.
