Jeffris Speech Draws Massive Crowds in Wood County

Jeffris addressed about two to three thousand voters across Wood County in a Saturday rally, filling the armory and opera house. C A McGee, laFollette staff orator, spoke before about one hundred voters at the armory on Monday night. The gallery was empty and main floor attendance did not exceed two hundred as party workers failed to draw a crowd. He offered untruthful statements and refused to answer a prominent Democrat's questions, provoking independent voters to dissatisfaction and urging defeat of officials who admit state bankruptcy and ruin.
