Baby Carried Off by Wolf Near McMillan Farm
Mrs Hilgrien on Rozellville road screamed for help when a large wild animal, likely a wolf, grabbed two year old Roy Bilgrien from the Paulsen farm yard. A neighbor girl pursued the thief, who dropped the child two and a half blocks away. The baby escaped with torn clothes and was returned unharmed. Mrs Bilgrien is the daughter of Christ Schunk.

Accidental Gun Incident Hovers Over Babcock Home
Last Monday morning at 10:30 near Auburndale Mrs. W. M. Babcock was shot in the head by a accidentally discharged rifle carried by her son as he left for a woods trip. She was taken to St Joseph's hospital that evening in critical condition after surgeons operated to remove the bullet.

Barney Dies. Spencer Lawyer Politician Was County Figure
A. B. Barney of Spencer, longtime Marathon county lawyer and justice of the peace, died at Marathon county hospital after illness. He served in the state assembly in 1893 and left a family in Clear Lake, plus a brother former Podge County judge. Funeral was in Wausau with Spencer Supervisor Farrington present. Also noted is a district Odd Fellows meeting in Medford and nearby areas with a banquet at Mansion House.
