Improvements at St Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield

A feature on St Joseph's Hospital praises its care and staff the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and the hospital's new three story addition. It notes the 14 sisters including three in the operating room the convent's 60 members and teaching nurse training with music. Donations from local citizens funded rooms fixtures and sterilizing facilities and the piece closes with a note on the W C T U meeting at Miss Agnes Brown's home.

Popular Marshfield girl Jennie Buchmiller dies at 26

Miss Jennie Buchmiller daughter of Mr and Mrs Hernan Buchmiller of 410 West Fifth Street Marshfield died Saturday at St Josephs hospital after an illness of less than a week. She was born in Prentice June 10 1889 and moved to Marshfield at eight. She served as telephone operator and later ran a home parlor millinery. She belonged to the Presbyterian church and the Rebecca lodge. Funeral was Tuesday at 2 pm from the home, Rev H C Postlethwaite officiating. Her death shocked the community and many friends attended from out of town.

Striking Meteor Falls Near City Sunday Night

A large bright meteor lit the southern sky Monday evening, moving east to west before disappearing near the earth. Peter LaBelle of the waterworks witnessed it from south of the power house, describing a comet like body with a long flaming tail identifiable just after ten o clock.

Death of A Lois Stueber in Marshfield

Alouis Stueber died after four months with pleurisy at his West C street home. Born in Germany in 1860, he immigrated in 1882 and married Minnie Gosse in 1887. The couple lived in Marshfield for 23 years and are survived by his devoted wife and four children Mrs. J. Kress, Leona, Leonard, and Arthur Staeber.

Klan Klub forms in band hall with rules and officers

A group of 25 to 30 young men organized the Klan Klub aiming at physical social and moral betterment. C W Otto was president with L C French vice president and other officers elected. The club will use space over Vollmar & Below with rooms for smoking parlor gym and vending. A minimum age of sixteen is set and gambling or intoxicants are prohibited.

Marshfield wins Northside clash over Stanley in hard-fought game

In a Stanley game last Saturday JH. B. defeated Stanley after a tight first half. Pat Wright booted the lone score with a 35 yard drop kick in the third quarter, finishing with Marshfield overpowering their opponents as the game ended.

Re adjustment in the Post Office staff changes

In the local post office re adjustment following P. J. Evans retirement, Postmaster Upham recommends Edward Rafftery as assistant and transfers Marcus Hansen from the carriers to the office force. Sub carrier Wm F Neidler becomes regular and will leave the route. Carrier Johnson moves to Hansen's route.

No Men Only Show Admonition from Opera House Manager

A public notice from J. P. Adlee states that the local opera house will not host any event "for men only" after yesterday's uproar by phone callers. The manager clarifies inclusive policy and rejects gender restricted performances.
