Marshfield High School dropped a hard fought contest to Stevens Point 26 to 7 last Saturday. The locals, out of time at the two yard line, fell short of a late touchdown. McCarr capped Marshfield’s scoring with a pretty end run after a lengthy drive as Nedix shined on returns. Port’s lone long gain and a single completed forward pass keyed their offense while Marshfield’s defense showed improvement but offensive struggles persisted. Next Saturday Marshfield faces Tomahawk at Tomahawk with Medford on the schedule later, ahead of the Grand Rapids showdown.
A second infantile paralysia case emerged in the city Saturday involving a nine year old girl at the home of Mr and Mrs A. Quarantine was set Sunday. The attending physician says the case is severe but recovery is likely for the child.

Emil Radloff formerly of Marshfield died Monday at his home on Lid West Union street in Wausau aged 35 after six months illness. He was born in Hus lisford and lived here several years then moved to Wausau. Survived by widow two sons Harold and Norman parents Mr and Mrs Albert Radloil of Wausau and one sister Mrs A Pankow of Marshfield The funeral is set for Thursday afternoon at the West Side Lutheran Church in Wausau.
Gottlieb Lenherr demonstrated his stump pulling machine in lower Richfield to aid Prof. Cat D. Livingston of the state university agricultural engineering department. Accompanied by Lenherr and local men FE. Burr and G Vaughn, the party found the device in steam and actively pulling stumps, with Lenherr praised for his adaptable design.
The Central Wisconsin Holstein Friesian Breeders Association held its annual cattle sale at the Fairgrounds on Tuesday. The sale was a success though fewer cattle were sold than last year, with about 100 head bringing 10.22 each, including a dozen young heifers. The top price paid for a single animal was 200, with several lots bid up by owners for higher value. The heaviest buyer was J. F. Williams of Sterling, Missouri, who invested over 1600 dollars.
Peter Kiendalen was arraigned in municipal court Saturday on a charge unspecified. fined $1 with costs totaling $4.38. Ever Anderson fined 8 percent amounting to $1,108 in Judge Wegener's court Tuesday for drunkenness. had about $250 on his person when arrested. A committee from the Merrill Business Men's Association met Thursday night to inspect Marshfield’s lighting system and consider a Merrill project similar in substance. Kenneth LaBelle working on Sacred Heart church Saturday afternoon fell from movable staging when a rope failed. He suffered a broken wrist and an injured elbow while a companion grasped the rope at the other end to prevent a full fall.
Captain Rupert Connor, formerly of Marshfield and later commissioned to Company 1, Marinette, has been granted two weeks leave from October 22. He is expected to reach home this week and may transact business or arrange affairs for a longer San Antonio stay if extended duty for Company requires. Connor has held roles from Marshfield commander to battalion sergeant major and regimental sergeant major during his reenlistment after resigning three years ago.
