Flour Mill Improvements At Banner Mills Increase Output
The Banner Mills completed extensive upgrades worth thousands, adopting two large circular gyrating sifters with 480 silk sieves and automatic cleaning. Output rises by 50 barrels daily to 250, with a new scourer, dust collectors, spouting, corn boiler and germinator, and a bran packer. Under James D. Vaughn, the Marshfield mill competes with Minneapolis mills and ships flour locally. The Fort nightly Musical Club meets October 27 with Mrs. Below hosting, and Miss Glassner’s gathering moves to November 2 with French and Italian opera selections led by Mrs. Finney.

Fatal House Fire Claims Busse Family at Marathon City
Mrs R C Busse and her young child died after a kerosene accident at their Marathon City home last Wednesday. The child pulled kerosene onto a stove, catching fire. the mother rushed to save the child and was badly burned before she died hours later.
