Tests of sixteen new drive wells south of the power plant show a flow exceeding old pumping capacity. Early results indicate the wells will deliver well over 1000 gallons per minute, with supply expanding as more connections are tested. Far wells yield the strongest output, suggesting limitless potential as capacity is measured and scaled.
The Times announces conversion from gasoline to a three horse electric motor powering its tour presses stitcher and folder. Electric power provides smoother operation, faster trimming of presses at high speed, and reduces trouble and dirt. Despite higher stock and labor costs the paper maintains its fair high quality printing prices.
A four mail pouch containing first class mail and registered letters dropped from a combined mail and express car on the Greenwood branch last Friday. It lay on the right of way until found four miles from the city and brought back to town. Local rumor suggests a $15,000 package might have been in the pouch, but no evidence supports it.
Miss Edna O'Brien daughter of Sim O'Brien and Chas Duval were married Wednesday at the Methodist parsonage by Rev M EB Fraser. Attendants Miss Clara Kohl and Archie Schubert. Newlyweds left for Antigo then Chicago on a wedding trip. popular Marshfield couple with many friends extend best wishes.
Mrs. Adam Long a Marshfield pioneer died at her Stn street home after a fall. Aged seventy six, she was long active in the community and survived by husband two daughters and two sons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm from the little house conducted by Rev H C Postlethwaite with relatives arriving from Watertown Pasadena and Chicago.
Proprieties of several Marsh-Seld hotels met last Friday to set higher prices for transients and boarders. Transients will pay 1.25 dollars daily, table boarders 3.50 dollars weekly, with single room boarders at 4.50 to 5.00 weekly. Thomas house charges 1.50 daily for transients. Meals rise to 35 cents and lodging to 35 and 50 cents. Feeding and stabling for teams go from 3 to 3.3 cents. Rates take effect next Monday, October 21, with Thomas Mansion Eagle Montreal Omaha and Northwestern agreeing.
George and Moses Lupient hold relics on the Clark County Lupient homestead now owned by Frank Lupient who finished a modern residence and farm buildings. The relics are handmade shakes made about forty years ago by G A Lupient from clear pine with a dread draw shave. Each shake is about two feet long and eight inches to the weather.
The region sees strong demand for cut-over land and unimproved tracks, with a lively season expected next year. Farmers eyeing land near forty-acre parcels may act now before spring buyers surge, while Louis Schies was shot in the leg during a Sunday chicken shoot. the bullet was removed and he is recovering well.
Mrs. Helen Monaghan of Darlington the Grand Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star for Wisconsin arrives in the city Friday evening as guest of the local chapter to be inspected. Special entertainment plans include a banquet at the Masonic temple.

Wollmat and Below of this city closed a deal last week to acquire 2,000,000 feet of fine hardwood timber near Edson in Chippewa county. The logs will be hauled out this winter to the saw rail at Boyd.
