Deserter Babcock Sentenced After Alimony Plot

James August Babcock formerly of this city and now in Arpin faced a desertion charge and then a harsher count leading to a one year sentence at Waupun. The tale includes a switch to a Grand Rapids jail and a noted real estate mortgage plan.
