Oshkosh Germans Protest Gun Shipment Reply
Oshkosh German Americans sent a telegram to President Wilson about a Soo road trainload of armament for Canada. Secretary of State Bryan replied that the shipment did not violate U.S. neutrality law as the cannon and ammunition were sold in the ordinary course of trade. The telegram suggests forty five cars of armament may have reached their destination despite reports of a stop en route. Your shipment passed Marshfield last week.
