Switch Board Burned Out
A central office switch board burned out after a live wire touched the telephone and electric light lines, disconnecting all phones. Firemen contained the cabinet fire. a new board is being ordered. Farmers Institute to be Held at Arpin on June 3
A farmers institute will be held at Arpin on Tuesday June 3 conducted by Supt George McKerrow assisted by George C Hill of Rosendale. A large attendance is expected as Arpin is a new point for institutes with a one day session promised. McKerrow will speak on sheep stock breeding and economical feeding while Hill covers clover gardens and corn. Farmers Institute Bulletin No. 15 will be distributed at the meeting.

Fifteenth Wedding Anniversary Celebrated at Chestnut Street Home
Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Upnem entertained a large party of friends at their handsome Chestnut Street home on Saturday evening to mark their crystal wedding anniversary. The house was beautifully decorated and guests were royally entertained as the couple received many fine cut glass gifts and heartfelt congratulations on fifteen years of marriage.

Bishop Delayed by Rail Washout Reaches Rib Lake Thursday
La Crosse Bishop James Schwebach did not arrive Wednesday due to a washout on the line near La Crosse. He passed through Thursday at 10:53 am en route to Rib Lake where Rev. John Risen will assist in confirming a large Rib Lake class. Catholic Foresters hoped to greet him at St John’s Hall Wednesday evening but were disappointed.

Oshkosh Man Assigned To Asiatic Squadron
Earl Finney of Oshkosh who visited his brother Alderman E E Finney in the city last week was notified by the secretary of the navy that he is assigned to the Asiatic squadron with orders to report for duty in San Francisco on May 20. He left Oshkosh last Saturday for the Pacific coast and will join the squadron near the Philippines as soon as possible.

Fred Beell of this city and Ed Adamson of Chicago signed articles for a catch as catch can wrestling match at Adler's opera house on May 31.
