Mrs McGill Acquitted In Marshfield Bedding Fire Trial
Mrs Ann McGill of Marshfield was found not guilty after a weeklong trial for setting fire to the Marshfield Bedding plant on January 19. The case drew a crowded courtroom, featured over 100 witnesses, and hinged on circumstantial evidence and the defendant’s age and condition. The fire’s origin remains unsolved as the county recalls one of its noted legal battles.

Decoration Day observances set with parade and speeches
Preparations are complete for Decoration Day events with a parade from Central Avenue School House at 10 a m inviting all local societies, public and parochial schools. Graves at the cemetery will be decorated by school children, a Lower girls group, and afternoon programs include speeches by Ex Gov Upham Mayor Pankow and Attorney C B Edwards, drills by Company A Knights of St George M W A Forester team and a Second Regiment band concert.

Marshfield High Set to Hold Commencement Exercises
The Marshfield High School Class of Ten will graduate seven girls and three boys on Thursday evening June 12 at Adler's Opera House, with class day events June 10. Graduates deliver orations on topics from The Storming of the Bastille to A Plea for Art, followed by musical selections and a two act Class Day comedy and other exercises.

Death of Charles Noll at Marshfield Wisconsin
Charles Noll aged forty died after blood poisoning from a head injury caused by a falling oil can in his Noll Hardware store. He lived in Marshfield since 1887 and leaves a widow, two young children, his father and mother, two brothers and a sister. Funeral was held in Kiel and the family receives city sympathy.

Trip Around the World Event by Local Ladies Aid Society
The M E church Ladies Aid staged a world voyage on Wednesday night with guests crowding the buses. Stops included Japan Turkey Germany and the United States with hosts at Welton Weiser Beattie and Williams homes. President Roosevelt Uncle Sam and the Goddess of Liberty appeared as part of the hosts’ performers and a German orchestra entertained. Receipts neared eighty dollars and another trip was planned for Thursday with route variations.

Wisconsin Central introduces a new fast freight from southern points, arriving at 8:40 a.m. after a Chicago departure in the evening. The service promises very quick transit with goods shipped from Chicago or Milwaukee before six p.m. arriving by the next morning. interurban freights are handled with equal dispatch.
