Split-Log Drags Improve Johnson Roads Says local citizens
Edward Brend of Corinth reports two split-log drags in Johnson in road districts No 3 and No 5. One drag built by August Strebe a year ago on a road to his place, the other built this spring on a westward road from Corinth. They claim ruts are filled, mud reduced, and dust limited, with better roads at lower cost if overseers divide districts into mile stretches and employ drags after each rain. Also notes sugar cane fodder potential and seeding rate.
