Public interest aroused by Felker campaign inquiry contest

Special Train to Appleton for Wisconsin Catholic Convention

Special train runs May 27 from here to Appleton for state Catholic societies gathering. Second régiment band to play in parade and Volks-Fast in the Park with 30 bands before 30,000 listeners. Train leaves about 5 30 am. 200 expected aboard. Convention spans four days with option to stay over.

Second Regt Band Holds May Dance At Armory

The Second Regiment band hosts a May 10 armory dance with the full brass section. A concert from 8:30 to 9:00 PM precedes an evening of dancing. It marks the band’s first public appearance with new government-furnished instruments costing 1800 dollars, promising a treat for music lovers and dancers.

Marshfield Manufacturers and Shippers Association Formed

A Marshfield meeting of local business leaders created the Marshfield Manufacturers and Shippers Association to improve shipping conditions and advance the city. Members include Upham Manufacturing, R Roddis Lumber, Felker Bros Mig Co, Marshfield Stave, Lang and Scharmann, Marshfield Brewing, Sanitary Mattress, Hafer and Kalschen, with C. H. Stuck as president Otto Scharmann as vice president and F. R. Upham as secretary and treasurer. The group aims to unite efforts for local improvement and potentially spark broader city-wide growth.

Reuter concert a success in Marshfield

T Tack, Marshfield's impresario, earned praise for bringing the Reuter company last Thursday. The venue was near capacity with an enthusiastic audience. Reuter impressed as a former Wansat resident, delivering his own compositions and strong piano and vocal selections. Tack’s debut as Oscar Hammerstein pleases, with hopes for future artists.

Returned from California trip highlights and memories

Mrs E C Derby and Miss Nora Long of Marshfield returned from Pasadena after five months as guests of Mr and Mrs Frank A Long. They praised California as the land of sunshine and flowers, described lush orchards, and recalled visits to Los Angeles, Venice style drives, Mount Lowe summit and Alpine Tavern. They noted the Port Costa ferry incident and observed aviation displays at Long Beach, ending with California praised as an ideal winter haven.
