Albert G Felker a Marshfield business leader and president of Felker Bros Mirg Co launches a mayoral bid on a platform of progress. The editors praise his city service industry ties and integrity, noting his broad experience, self made career and strong voter support as he prepares to unveil his official platform.
At the farm home of M Ehrhardt south of the city Miss Alice Ehrhardt married George Lindow of Chili last Wednesday evening. Rev O A Hillman performed the ceremony in the presence of relatives and intimate friends. The couple will reside on Lindow's farm near Chili and are praised as energetic and capable youngsters.
In a tight armory matchup last Saturday Company A edged Park Falls 28 to 26 after a seesaw first half. Local high school squad dominated the visitors in the second period, winning 43 to 15, setting up a city championship double header with Stratford highs.
The forty hours devotion at St John’s Catholic Church ends after a demanding period led by Fr Walz with Fr Mechler and six visiting priests. The rush period for the popular lady voting contest is here. Contestants must hustle as merchants issue coupons and daily effort drives a larger count. A $20 prize is awarded based on this month’s business, with bonuses for weekly submissions and group turns of seven.
Adler announces a Thursday May 14 opening at the New Adler opera house featuring Miss Fisher the European contortionist. The program includes 3000 feet of motion pictures and one illustrated song with Everglades of Florida scenery and electrical effects. The Odd Fellows lodge has leased the large hall in the Kohl building over the fair store for lodge room use within the next two weeks. The hall is suitably sized and equipped. The Rebekahs will share the space and other societies may also lease meeting privileges from the lodge.

Plans are complete for a stock fair and sale day at Dallendorfer and Bathrick stables on the north side next Saturday. Entries include 22 horses and large numbers of hogs, cattle and other livestock, with a carload of draft horses brought by J. J. Clement of Osceola. Morning sales will be open for private bargains, while afternoon auctions will be conducted by two auctioneers on commission. H. R. Bathrick acts as clerk.
The P. J. Schaefer company buys the Hub Cheese plant, expanding a state leading cold storage facility. The Marshfield Wisconsin operation markets twelve American cheese styles under Quality Brand, with Schaefer and Neumann at the helm, planning upgrades to offices and packing rooms to boost local industry.
The coming city election will not be lavishly funded if the new corrupt practices act is enforced. It sets spending caps at one third of the annual salary for the office sought, with mayoral limits around $50 given a $100 salary plus a $50 water and light board stipend. Aldermen face about $12 limits under the current salary system.
