Roddis and Volimar Sisters Set to Return from Europe
Misses Frances Roddis and Vera Volimar will arrive home around August 2 after eleven months in Europe. They left Naples July 20 aboard the Kasserine Louise, a ten Gay boat, and should reach New York next Monday and Marshfield by Wednesday or Thursday. They traveled through Berlin, Switzerland, the Alps, Rome, Paris, Naples and other places, studying music and languages, and enjoyed a lengthy European tour before longing to be home again.

Holy Jumpers Attack Waukesha Sect at Meeting

Prominent dairyman Fred Reitbrock dies in Athens
Fred Reitbrock, a notable state figure with a national reputation among dairymen, died Monday at his daughter’s home in Athens after a long illness. He had recently traveled to California for health but worsened during travel, possibly due to a ruptured blood vessel. Reitbrock led the Reitbrook Land & Lumber Co., chaired the Athens Electric Light & Power Co., headed the Athens & North Eastern railroad, and owned the Athens Brick & Tile Co. His Guernsey herd, including world record cows Veksa Sunbeam and Standard’s Morning Glory, was well known nationwide. Remains were taken to Milwaukee for funeral services Thursday afternoon at his home, 1426 Cedar Street.

Four young performers stage lawn show at Humble home
Verna Judson Ruth Nuss and Hes ter and Charlie Humble presented a small entertainment on the Humble lawn with a tent stage and seating for over forty. Admission one cent with four cents for reserved seats. The program featured singing recitations and dancing, highlighted by Ruth Nuss dancing to guitar. The Casey boys provided music. Receipts totaled 2.32 dollars, covering expenses, and plans for weekly plays with new programs were discussed.
