Company Goes to Camp for National Maneuvers
The Five regimental companies plus the Second Regiment band will travel by special train to Camp Douglas for one week starting Saturday morning. Sixty eight local company members and three extras will join thirty four from the Second Regiment, making 105 men total. The group, known as the mail garrison, departs at 1 15 AM and returns July 27, then later rendezvous at Fond du Lac for Indianapolis maneuvers. A light Angered gentleman entered the shop and stole the cash drawer’s contents, about $21, leaving four cents. Wegner, working in the back, did not notice the entry. a young man who has frequented the store is suspected and may be arrested if the money is not returned.

Bond Issue Carries For City Waterworks Upgrade
The special election approved a 33,000 bond issue to upgrade Marshfield waterworks and lighting. Voters cast 243 for and 166 against in a low turnout of 409. The plan includes expanded water supply, day current power for small industry, and revised electric systems to support more efficient power and lighting, with potential modern engines or Weber Diesel options under study. New teachers will join the schools, with Alma Brown the sole new high school hire and several other graded positions filled by educators from nearby towns.
