In a Sunday afternoon accident on Rainbow Lake, 8 year old Militon Mittilman of Milwaukee drowned when a small sailboat capsized near the Grand View Hotel dock close to several cottages. A gasoline launch named Gem, owned by Mr. Coleman, rescued six other boys. Mittilman's body was recovered Monday after grappling efforts by Marshfield delegates and local witnesses Lacy and Bisine Gwin.
A large crowd watched Marshfield defeat Loyal 2 to 1 Sunday after Troeh pitched superbly and held the visitors to two hits. An error in the seventh inning allowed Loyal two runs, spoiling a shutout. The Loyal club claimed they had only one previous game, but that was their lone loss.
