Fulweiler in Custody in Stratford Death Case

Marathon county authorities press ahead in the Jennie Riehle murder inquiry. Rudolph Fulweiler is held in Wausau after detectives traced the man last seen near Stratford where the 16 year old was killed. Previous suspects, two tramps, exonerated. Fulweiler faces possible conviction.

Pioneer Wisconsin resident Christopher Yahrmark Dies at 92

Christopher Yahrmark aged ninety two died at the home of Mr and Mrs A L Mac Farlane on July 4 due to age related decline with dropsical complications. Funeral held Friday afternoon at the Mac Farlane residence with Rev Postlethwaite officiating. Pallbearers were Joseph Butler H L Brooks James Ward and John Burtt. He was an uncle to Mrs MacFarlane and Mrs L M Cummings and had lived here as an invalid for years, long known as a Wisconsin pioneer from East Troy.

Change in Northwestern trains increases first class daily service

A Monday schedule shift on the Northwestern division adds a daily first class train except Sundays. The Eland to Wausau service now runs through to the city, with the Wausau afternoon train at 2 35 rather than 2 50, becoming passenger only and trimming run time to 1 hour 25 minutes. The new timetable covers arrivals from Chicago Milwaukee and other points, with multiple departures to Wausau Rhinelander and northward destinations, urging patrons to preserve the printed schedule due to irregular timetable publishing.

Accident at Tomahawk Injures Lumber Dealer Brother

Merchant L Nick received word his brother Math Nick a leading lumber dealer and excelsior manufacturer in Tomahawk was badly hurt in a runaway accident Friday. He was thrown from a heavy wagon with a wheel passing over him. Doctors initially gave up hope but Dr Lathrop’s visit Monday night brought relief and the patient rested easy with prospects of recovery.

Destructive Midwestern Storm Leaves Dozens Dead

A violent July storm from Monroe to Fond du Lac and Jackson counties caused extensive destruction across towns including Millston Oakdale Fairwater and Neillsville. Dozens killed and many injured or left homeless as telephone lines failed and rail traffic faced peril. Local figures report multiple fatalities touching families connected to D A Turnham.

Fred Warsinske Appointed Deputy Sheriff

Sheriff Julian Welsh appoints Fred Warsinske to fill the vacancy from J W Wicker resignation. Warsinske previously served as deputy and on the city police force, praised for detective work. He was sworn in Saturday.

Extra Nickel for the Neck Shaving Adds Five Cent Charge

Local barbers held a meeting and decided to charge five cents for shaving the neck in addition to the ten cents for shaving the face. The move reflects a small price adjustment aimed at neck grooming services.

Depot Work Advances On New City Passenger Station

Roadmaster Baker and a fifty man crew clear space for the new passenger depot and raise the rail bed about six inches. The station will be placed on the old site with a freight depot further east near Cedar street. the building will be about forty by eighty two feet, one story with basement, heated and wired for modern conveniences.
