Wisconsin Central Depot to Use Stone Instead of Brick
The Wisconsin Central delays the new passenger station pending a switch from brick to stone. The building will be light colored dressed stone from Colfax quarries, a credit to the company and a town ornament. Miss Aciie Hinman hosted a six oclock dinner for about forty guests at the Hinman home in honor of Miss Gertrude Winch. The event served as a miscellaneous shower with helpers Mabel Winch Gladys Ames Fanny Cole and Rosa Bille assisting in service. The table was decorated with white daisies and white satin ribbons and a sprinkler covered with satin hung over the gift collection.

Stratford Woman Dies by Own Action at 79
Mrs. Peter Olson of Stratford, aged 79, died Monday in Stratford under circumstances strongly indicating suicide. She had shown signs of mental distress, suffered convulsions in the morning, and died about 3 PM despite medical aid. It is believed she took a dose of rough on rats. She is survived by her husband, employed by the Connor Company.

Drayman John Petz faced an accident while unloading a cheese load at Central station on Monday. His wagon backed toward the house track as a switch engine moved cars, tipping the wagon and piling cheese. Petz was thrown but escaped serious injury.

Burglary at dentist office nets gold fillings and cash
A Saturday forenoon break in at Dr. W. H. Lind and attorney John F. Cole’s offices netted gold fillings and three boxes of gold pellets valued around ten dollars plus sixty dollars in cash belonging to the Independent Order of Foresters. Institute and Examinations Set for Wood County 1907
County Superintendent Robert Morris issues a county wide circular for a five day teachers institute at Grand Rapids starting July 29. Attendance is required for all teachers and prospective teachers who must bring textbooks and a dictionary. An adjourned inquest into the Jennie Rieble murder near Stratford, June 30, delayed a week as authorities build a chain of evidence against Rudolph Fulweiler.
