Rozellville Tragedy A Man Kills Wife Then Self

A Rozellville area man John Powell allegedly shot and killed his wife Susie Reif Powell with a 12 gauge repeater loaded with buckshot and then appeared to shoot at himself. Neighbors found Mrs Powell dead at the doorway, Powell crying and surrendering later to Sheriff Chellis. Powell, husband of the deceased, was taken into custody. a coroner's inquest ruled death a homicide. The scene left blood, hair and bones scattered and affected the couple’s five children. Powell faces murder charges as investigation continues.

Death of Mrs Brickels in Auburndale

Mrs Hanna Brickels wife of Rev L F Brickels of Auburndale died at their home after a lingering illness. Funeral held at home with Rev Joseph Brown delivering the sermon in Rev Young's absence. Remains were taken to Waukesha for interment with local attendees named.

Berdie Resigns From Brill's Son Mercantile

W. P. Berdie resigns as manager of Brill's Son mercantile business here and will depart for Milwaukee this week. He has been with the firm since its beginning three years ago and is highly popular. friends regret his leaving.
